Abstract Prinsepia utilis Royle, known for its diverse applications in traditional medicine (Chinese and Indian folk medicines), has garnered substantial attention within the field of phytochemistry bioactivity exploration. P. is a deciduous shrub from family Rosaceae which predominantly distributed Himalayan Mountain range at altitudes ranging 1000 to 3000 meters above sea level. This paper mainly focused on present state knowledge about , focusing compiling comprehensive current database encompassing phytochemical composition associated bioactivities. Various investigations have yielded rich repository secondary metabolites, including alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, terpenoids. studies reported bioactivities attributed extracts, fractions, or isolated compounds showing antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, antimicrobial, enzymatic inhibitory (α‐glucosidase lipase), immunosuppressive, cytotoxic. In vivo demonstrated anti‐benign prostatic hyperplasia effects, osteoprotective, hypoglycemic activity aligning with claims. For treatment atrophic dermatitis acne vulgaris, formulations containing extract been developed proven effectiveness. Furthermore, exploration highlights promising ability as source novel therapeutic agents functional additives. However, further are required integrate pharmacological evaluations, clinical trials, sustainable cultivation practices unlock pharmaceutical industrial applications.
