Fruit is prone to rot and deterioration due oxidative browning microbial infection during storage, which can cause serious economic losses food safety problems. It urgent develop a multifunctional composite coating extend the shelf life of fruits. In this work, quaternized chitosan nanoparticles (QCs/TA NPs) with excellent antibacterial antioxidant properties were prepared based on electrostatic interaction using tannic acid instead conventional cross-linking agents. Meanwhile, konjac glucomannan (KGM) high viscosity, edible biodegradable was used as dispersant disperse stabilize nanoparticles, film-forming agent form coating. The exhibited oxygen water vapor barrier properties, antioxidant, antibacterial, mechanical hydrophobicity, UV shielding properties. Surprisingly, permeability K-NPs-15 film low 1.93 × 10−13 (cm3·cm)/(cm2·s·Pa). banana spray preservation experiments proved that could effectively prolong bananas. Therefore, study provides new idea for designing freshness coatings, has broad application prospect.

Enhancing awareness of personal cleanliness and antibacterial resistance has intensified the substance request on consumable products. Antibacterial agents that have been commercialized nowadays are produced from inorganic non-renewable substances. This provides several drawbacks, particularly against health environmental issues. Therefore, many scientists work substituting fossil-fuel-based with natural ones such as biomass. Biomass derivatives, abundances biopolymers in world, amount to major compounds including polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicellulose, chitosan) polyphenol (tannin lignin) substances which capable combat growth Gram-positive bacteria Gram-negative bacteria. The growing global population challenges the food industry to ensure it remains safe for consumption. Food waste caused by imbalances between production and handling creates significant economic, environmental, social risks. However, packaging technology innovation has emerged as a powerful tool, offering solution extending shelf life maintaining product quality. Consumers' increasing interest in eco-friendly driven research into renewable materials low-toxicity bioactive components. Gallic acid, promising phenolic compound, holds potential preservation sustainable development. Its antibacterial antifungal properties against resistant microbes biofilm formation, its ability prevent lipid protein oxidation, color indicator monitoring freshness all contribute preservation. incorporation edible polymers offers strategy innovative packaging. Depending on dosage material composition, loading gallic acid within polymer matrix can improve properties, including UV barrier, mechanical strength, water vapor oxygen permeability. This article reviews of developing biodegradable, active, intelligent, Future directions include evaluating acid's toxicity, dispersion matrix, pro-oxidative activity, compatibility with biodegradable (especially those derived from agricultural by-products), migration products, stability under different environmental conditions. sustainability perspective (environment, social) is also discussed.

Burns carry a large surface area, varying in shapes and depths, an elevated risk of infection. Regardless the underlying etiology, burns pose significant medical challenges high mortality rate. Given limitations current therapies, tissue-engineering-based treatments for are inevitable. Herein, we developed natural physicochemically cross-linked adhesive injectable skin substitute (SS) comprising chitosan (Ch) silk fibroin (SF), with tannic acid (TA) through hydrogen bonding, incorporated fresh platelet-rich fibrin (FPRF). SF was also chimerically riboflavin (RF) under visible light to ensure desirable biodegradability rate nontoxicity. Double SS exhibited semibilayer (SBSS) structure smaller pores upper layer. In CaCl2-treated FPRF, activated platelets augmented vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) platelet-derived GF (PDGF) release. The resultant SBSS possessed optimal adhesion, hemocompatibility, antibacterial antioxidant activities (P ≤ 0.05). rat liver injury model confirmed rapid hemostatic effect SBSS. Furthermore, bottom layer promoted L929 fibroblast growth, proliferation, migration. SBSS-treated wounds showed lower inflammatory cells, earlier epithelialization, angiogenesis, faster healing. proposed could be ideal remedy burn wound therapy.
