Obesity is a disease associated with increased oxidative stress in humans and animals, consumption of antioxidant compounds such as polyphenols can minimise it. These are abundant malícia (Mimosa quadrivalvis L.) honey produced by stingless bees. This study aimed to evaluate whether administration Mimosa L. obese rats could reduce vital organs through phenolic compound action. Wistar (228 ± 14.69 g) were randomly divided into two groups: healthy group (HG, n = 20) fed control diet an (OG, cafeteria for the initial 8 weeks. After this period, these groups again randomised four subgroups: 10), (1,000 mg/kg; HGH, OGH, 10) final weeks previously mentioned diets. The euthanised at end experiment collect brain, gut, kidney, liver tissues parameters related profile. reduced energy intake weight gain OGH comparison OG. Total capacity liver, gut both treated compared respective controls. Lipid peroxidation decreased kidney OGH. Both showed elevated deposition, including catechin, procyanidins, flavonoids, across all organs. Specifically, brain greater procyanidin B2 gallic acid deposition; B1 B2, epicatechin, myricetin concentrations; higher kaempferol 3-glucoside kidneys had deposition Histologically, displayed neuronal damage prevention hepatic steatosis induced diet. Malícia effectively via modulation diet-induced rats.

There is a surplus of byproducts from food processing in the industry, which has potential nutritional value. The process transforming these leftover materials into products higher value or utility currently referred to as upcycling. objective this systematic review was answer following question: "Can industry promote health-related benefits vivo?". To question, three scientific databases were considered for literature search: PubMed, Scopus, and Web Science. inclusion criteria outlined by PICOS, data analysis conducted PRISMA guidelines. Thirteen studies that used animal models evaluate included review. These demonstrated positive effects on overall health. main results identified are related reduction reactive oxygen species, enzymes liver damage, improvement cytokines such IL-6, IL-2, TNF-α, glucose lipid plasma levels. However, more necessary better elucidate activities, mechanisms action, toxicity compounds. PROSPERO (CRD42024576869).

The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential effects administering mangaba powder on liver function and somatic, oxidative lipid metabolism parameters in rats fed a high-fat diet. Prepared has important amounts phenolic compounds, vitamin C, dietary fiber oligosaccharides. A total 32 adult Wistar were initially randomized into two groups for biological assay: normal-fat (NF, n = 16) (HF, diets 21 days. These subsequently subdivided four groups: NF (n 8), HF diet with administration (NFMG, 8) (HFMG, 8). treatment (400 mg/kg) lasted an additional 28 Compared rats, HFMG showed 8% reduction body mass index. Treatment reduced serum cholesterol by 18%, as well hepatic deposition triacylglycerides 26% 25%, addition increasing bile acid synthesis 77% organ. Mangaba consumption attenuated degree steatosis, peroxidation increased antioxidant capacity rats. results show that had lipid-lowering, hepatoprotective effects, especially which may be associated additive synergistic action between bioactive compounds present product.
