Hypoxia is an unfavorable environmental condition that produces diverse negative effects in fish. High-density cultures of Epinephelus coioides are more likely to experience hypoxic conditions than those natural environments. To assess the hypoxia on E. , we examined related enzyme activities and gene expression after 48 h 24 dissolved oxygen (DO) recovery. Under stress (DO: 1.2 ± 0.1 mg/L), energy supply mode fish changed from aerobic metabolism anaerobic metabolism, serum glucose content lactate dehydrogenase activity were significantly upregulated. Total protein, hepatic glycogen, two key regulatory enzymes (i.e., hexokinase pyruvate kinase) differentially expressed liver, mRNA three genes LDHA GLUT1 MCT2 ) also showed a high trend. In serum, immune-related alanine aminotransferase, aspartate alkaline phosphatase) found be involved regulation by different levels changing patterns. Expression inflammatory IL-8 IFNγ MyD88 NF-kB regulated liver. With prolongation stress, apoptotic p53 Bax Bcl-2 Caspase-9 was closely degree apoptosis Our investigation changes immune response, under reoxygenation (DO, 6.0 mg/L) provides theoretical bases for healthy aquaculture selection varieties with tolerance hypoxia.
