The application of coatings on concrete surfaces serves as a protective shield, guarding the structure against chlorides and averting corrosion reinforcement, consequently enhancing its durability. This study investigates resistance cement mortar samples to chloride ion penetration when coated with an amine-based carbon dioxide (CO2) solvent. Various factors, including monoethanolamine (MEA) concentrations 1, 10, 30 wt%; water-to-cement ratios (w/cm) 0.35, 0.4, 0.5; coating timings day 3 27; pre-conditioning methods such air drying, are investigated for their impact performance resistance. Specifically, significantly enhanced coatings, especially in higher w/cm. Coatings applied at early stage demonstrated superior compared those later curing process. Moreover, solutions MEA, capturing more CO2, encouraged by reducing capillary macropores within samples. Diffusivity analysis surface layer confirmed efficacy CO2-dissolved MEA solution barrier penetration. Optimal was possibly observed produced w/cm 0.4 treatment than 10% concentrations.
