This work explores the economic viability of a pyrolysis plant processing biochar-based slurry fuel (CS) from rice straw (RS) at production rates 10 and 40 tonnes/h. Minimum selling prices for wt% biochar in water (CS-W100) ethanol (CS-E100) slurries were A$ 0.07 0.052 per MJ, respectively. The most cost-effective scenario involves tonnes/h feedstock, yielding CS-E100 1434.30 tonne (or 0.052/MJ). A sensitivity analysis highlights price as pivotal factor, with increased to 1476.04 1566.63/tonne resulting profitable scenarios payback periods 14 8 years internal return % 22 %, Monte Carlo indicates 74.73 98.79 probability positive net present value (A$ 44.44 million 140.90 million) mentioned prices. study introduces pioneering hybrid simulation, combining literature experimental data, transform waste-to-energy materials into affordable clean energy solutions through novel fuels.

Energy primarily comes from fossil fuels, which leads to environmental deterioration through increased carbon dioxide load and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Renewable energy is a cheap alternative, biomass, like municipal solid wastes (MSWs), can be suitably used for production. This paper reviews impact of variations MSW composition on its physical, chemical, lignocellulosic properties. It further illustrates how these properties affect torrefaction products. was observed that refer either combination different waste types or independent wastes; hence, there no standard MSW. The are responsible fluctuating These properties, along with process parameters, simultaneously torrefied product, whereas influence biochar yield, physical chemical calorific value ash content. Torrefying containing low moisture content yields high value. Methods improve have not been studied. Research needed assess possibility improving by enhancing lignin percentages, possibly blending A guide best blend combinations ratios required. Also, it crucial study optimal parameters.

Expanding green areas in cities results growth waste generation. This study presents the findings of an investigation into from selective collection a large Central European city (Warsaw, Poland), which can be identified as valuable biomass resource. The research objective was to identify properties garden single-family housing determine valorization opportunities, emphasizing utilization GW source energy. yielded several findings, including notable degree variability fuel properties, moisture content (CV = 30%), lower heating value 14.3%), and ash 62.7/56.2%). suggests composting, while fertilizing indicate suitability for anaerobic digestion. instability coupled with elevated levels chlorine, sulfur, moisture, constrains use thermal processes alternative production.
