The combustion characteristics of single high-volatile bituminous (hvb) coal and walnut shell biomass particles were experimentally investigated in a laminar flow reactor with well-defined boundary conditions. Simultaneous multi-parameter optical diagnostics including laser induced incandescence (LII), fluorescence OH radicals (OH-LIF), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH-LIF), Mie scattering used to visualize the reaction zone, PAHs, soot during solid fuel volatile combustion. similar diameter around 126 μm studied under three different gas conditions 10vol%, 20vol%, 30vol% oxygen. overlapped images OH-LIF outer contours other signals provide valuable insights into structure flame. Additionally, height related averaged showcased dynamic evolution flame development. Further statistical analysis showed strong correlation between PAHs particle clouds. experimental results highlighted significant impact oxygen enrichment on loading, formation, oxidation rates. higher reactivity notably reduced loading could be attributed variations chemical composition, especially presence fuel-bound oxygen, while longer duration can explained by extent matter contained particles.
