Abstract Aim: Zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles are used on a commercial scale in many countries. Despite numerous studies the toxicity of nanoparticles, few have addressed their edible grains. The aim this study was to investigate growth inhibition ZnO TiO lentil, wheat, bean seeds. Methods: were investigated using transmission electron microscopy. Different concentrations (0.1, 1, 10, 100, 1000 mg/l) prepared distilled water for irrigation seeds irrigated three times day 8 consecutive days, with 3 ml solution per irrigation. To determine number germinated counted, stem lengths measured caliper. Data analyzed calculate 50% lethal concentration (LC 50 ). Results: Exposure all both resulted reduction lentil Bean showed decreased increased . Wheat exhibited increases decreases at nanoparticle concentrations. Conclusions: This that toxic effect depends type Furthermore, plays significant role toxicity. Therefore, more research is needed explore effects different plants various environments better understand plant organs impact development.
