Questions concerning species diversity have attracted ecologists and biogeographers for over a century, mainly because the of life on Earth is in rapid decline, which expected to continue future. One most important current database distribution data Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), contains more than 2 billion occurrences all organisms, this number continuously increasing with addition new by combining other applications. Such also exist several national databases, are unfortunately often not freely available included GBIF. We suspected that mostly professionally maintained governmental organisations, may be comprehensive GBIF, centrally organised therefore databases give accurate predictions To test our assumptions, we compared: (i) amount Czech called Nálezová databáze ochrany přírody (NDOP, Discovery nature protection) GBIF after its restriction Republic, (ii) overlap distributions based these two databases. used family Orchidaceae as model group. found that: there significantly larger records per studied region (Czech Republic) NDOP, compared Maxent orchid NDOP overlapping great degree Bearing mind results, suggest if only one studied, must use one. If should containing locations (usually some local ones, like NDOP), using implies significance distributions.

Rapid urban development impacts the integrity of tropical ecosystems on broad spatiotemporal scales. However, sustained long-term monitoring poses significant challenges, particularly in regions. In this context, ecoacoustics emerges as a promising approach to address gap. Yet, harnessing insights from extensive acoustic datasets presents its own set such time and expertise needed label species information recordings. Here, study an investigating soundscapes: use deep neural network trained time-of-day estimation. This research endeavors (1) provide qualitative analysis temporal variation (daily monthly) soundscape using conventional ecoacoustic indices embeddings, (2) compare predictive power both methods for estimation, (3) performance supervised classification unsupervised clustering specific recording site, habitat type, season. The study's findings reveal that proposed embeddings exhibit overall comparable performance. article concludes by discussing potential avenues further refinement method, which will contribute understanding across space.

ABSTRACT Climate change is widely recognized as a major threat to biodiversity and critical factor contributing the decline in species populations. However, it remains uncertain whether from continental island environments, especially endangered ones, will respond similarly or differently climate change. The strategies employed by these cope with change, corresponding conservation management approaches, remain poorly understood. In this study, we ecological niche models project future shifts distribution patterns of two sister species, Trigonobalanus doichangensis T. vericillata , which are distributed across regions tropical Asia. We analyzed potential changes their under four different scenarios for 2050s 2070s. Our results indicate that temperature significant driver whereas precipitation predominantly influences . Moreover, found range likely exceed suggesting may have stronger capacity adapting recommend areas be established maintain habitat stability most affected A comprehensive assessment status both also essential. Overall, study underscores distinct responses thereby enhancing our understanding adaptive informing targeted efforts.

This study investigates the risks Sundaland's biodiversity well management possibilities using GIS, RS, AI. The goal was find out how artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied effectively manage expand on body knowledge already available about useful roles GIS RS play area. In this systematic method, seven databases were used gather data 110 research publications, which 101 screened for scope subject variable. 80% (81articles) examined studies collected RS. It is found that. AI poised grow, offering new opportunities address intricate challenges facing our planet's diverse ecosystems. conclusion, efficient monitoring, well-informed policy creation, decision-making guarantee long-term preservation biodiversity, integration essential.

Climate and land-use changes their interactions have a profound effect on biodiversity, especially in biodiverse areas such as Southeast Asia (SEA) where aggregations of endemic species are widespread. To increase the effectiveness biodiversity protection, it is crucial to understand climate biodiversity. In present study, we predicted future based Cellular automaton Markov chain model (CA-MARKOV), took Galliformes an example assess impact protected SEA. addition, used ensemble distribution models (SDMs) potential habitats dynamics 62 currently 2070s. Our results showed that would reduce suitable these species. Among them, 22 or 31 migrate upward because decrease habitat suitability at lower elevations caused by changes, while other 40 30 were downward land use under two dispersal scenarios. These expand area with low high diversity, but there be mismatch between current (PAs) diversity. order effectively ensure protection conserve 30% planet 2030, our findings suggest should establish new PAs adjust range changes.
