Ecological corridors, as a key component of ecological networks (EN), can strengthen linkages between sources and effectively prevent further fragmentation loss regional habitats. Understanding the structure corridors exploring their resilience in different scenarios facilitate understanding on flows energy materials that contribute to landscape conservation restoration. In this study, agro-pastoral ecotone North Yinshan Mountain was used an example conduct EN analysis with focus. Random attack, overgrazing urban sprawl, incremental optimization, arterial were constructed. Network cascade failure simulations are introduced explore stability under four scenarios. Among them, 12 new optimized at 9 nodes, 158 connected 159 form backbone EN. Both scheme optimization additional edges play important roles maintaining This provides scientific decisions for categorization ensure integrity functional landscapes.

Ecological restoration is crucial for maintaining national ecological security. Scientific and reasonable identification of key areas a difficult problem facing the current spatial planning. This study evaluated ecosystem service (ES) supply, demand, their spatio-temporal characteristics in Northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau (NSLP). A coupling coordination degree (CCD) model was applied to interactive relationship between ES supply demand. The improved ant colony optimization (ACO) explore priority restoration. results showed that balance had significant differences. Higher were distributed south, higher demand located central northern parts. exhibited similar increasing trend from north south. Temporally, distinct time-varying across different types services. Urbanization presents significant challenges to biodiversity but also offers opportunities for its protection and development. While uncontrolled urban expansion has a destructive impact on biodiversity, effective planning can play positive role in protecting maintaining biodiversity. The of human factors, such as planning, protect maintain the healthy development This study conducted an in-depth analysis evolution various wildlife migration corridors throughout full-cycle construction Xiong’an New Area (Xiong’an) China, revealing urbanization these networks. Habitats species like Sus scrofa, Bufo gargarizans, Parus minor have notably increased. Between 2016 2023, scrofa habitats grew from 35 44, large-toed frog 24 35, Chinese tit remained stable. By phase, expanded 87, 97, 58. Habitat areas significantly, especially which increased 2873.84 hectares 7527.97 phase. Large-toed 2136.86 6982.78 hectares, while 1894.25 3679.71 hectares. These changes suggest that parks green spaces provided more extensive species. In terms networks, number dispersal routes considerably. 2016, had 77 routes, frogs 16, tits 77. 91 49, respectively, surged 232, 249, 152, indicating denser network. distribution ecological pinchpoints changed significantly. 2023 were concentrated densely built areas, reflecting urbanization’s resilience, assessed through network performance, showed gradual recovery. connectivity index decreased 8.25 7.29 then rebounded 11.37 ecosystem adapted after initial pressures.

Abstract Regional ecosystem quality has been rapidly declining as a result of rapid urbanization, which also fragmented landscapes and reduced connectedness. Strengthening ecological network resilience helps improve the environment’s quality, protect biodiversity, maximize benefits. To quantitatively assess based on 2020 data, we have selected Gansu region Yellow River Basin case study in this due to its significant condition sensitive vulnerability. Firstly, four services (ESs)—water yield, carbon storage, soil conservation, habitat quality—the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) method is introduced determine sources by calculating weights under different risk coefficients weigh multiple ESs. Two node attack simulations—random deliberate attack—are used for evaluating resilience, can simulate impact external interference. The concept threshold into evaluation process objectivity accuracy results. findings indicate that (1) 156 corridors spanning total distance 6,569.3 km 73 totalling 20,840 2 were found area. These generally demonstrate concentrated contiguous configuration southwestern broken scattered other regions. (2) With mean degree 4.27, path length 4.08, clustering coefficient 0.47, an undirected unweighted complex with improved connectivity no discernible characteristics was established. (3) more resilient perturbations from natural disasters when compared assault simulations two scenarios; 0.34. Considering final results global features curves, protection suggestions are proposed.
