Published: May 29, 2024

Artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithms are playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping daily life. However, these can exhibit biases that exacerbate societal injustices. Such have a substantial impact on people's perceptions of algorithmic fairness, yet the precise mechanisms and scope this phenomenon remain relatively understudied. To address research gap, comprehensive scoping literature review is conducted, providing overview current field. Subsequently, novel theoretical model developed synthesizes key themes, including algorithm bias, perceived individual characteristics, social task technology characteristics. The paper contributes proposing set propositions underscore critical gaps existing literature, contribute to deeper comprehension relationships among identified themes their constituent elements, offer roadmap for future domain.

While the cutting-edge AI algorithms like ChatGPT are being adopted to government bureaucracy, there is a lack of discussion about which systems should be and under what administrative conditions ensure accountability. This study addresses issue system adoption in public sector from perspective accountability, derived institutionalism democratic governance. Specifically, we borrow two terms Romzek & Ingraham (2000) [36], "source control" "discretion agency", present framework that categorizes "who can hold governments accountable" "what kind utilized?" for four types also point out states knowledge each type accountability examines how address it. discussed Symbolic Connectionist systems, based on approaches AI. By doing so, help deployed accountable.

Purpose This paper aims to propose a solution for dissolving the “privacy paradox” in social networks, and explore feasibility of adopting synergistic mechanism “deep-learning algorithms” “differential privacy dissolve this issue. Design/methodology/approach To validate our viewpoint, study constructs game model with two algorithms as core strategies. Findings The offer “profit guarantee” both network users operators. On other hand, provide “security By combining these approaches, achieves balance between security” “data value”. Practical implications findings suggest that algorithm practitioners should accelerate innovation algorithmic mechanisms, operators take responsibility users’ protection, develop correct understanding privacy. will feasible approach achieve Originality/value These some insights into protection personal data sharing.
