Environmental sustainability, energy consumption, and tourism are the most discussed topics in literature. However, limited studies have catered to relationship among these variables. From this perspective: current study aims find nexus between tourism, alternatives, financial development, pollution emissions by targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economies. We employ data of six GCC economies for years 2000–2019 adopt fully modified ordinary least square generalized approaches establish regression. The findings reveal a positive impact on number tourist arrivals (ITAs) while negative receipts emissions. Similarly, fossil fuel (FFE) shows renewable depicts with CO 2 This was moderated development. In addition individual analysis, developed sector can help reduce externalities ITA FFE. empirical analysis further documents all control variables including foreign investment, economic growth, gross capital formation Based results, it is recommended bring development into picture FFE environmental quality. put forward literature adding innovative thoughts regarding moderating role

Abstract A critical debate on whether macro economies would achieve sustainability targets via green innovations could reach some informed consensus, given it is explicit how those innovations, directly and indirectly, interact with both economic ecological systems through international activities. To unriddle this puzzle, work the initial attempt to examine innovation moderates influence of openness export diversification eco‐efficiency in selected 13 European Union (EU) from 1995 2014. We employ advanced second‐generation econometric approaches robust cross‐section dependence, slope heterogeneity, omitted variable bias concerns panel data. The main results are firstly, tend deteriorate absence a moderator. Secondly, moderation models, likely improve eco‐efficiency. Thirdly, not only promotes but also positively Fourthly, one‐way causality exists moderators eco‐efficiency, while openness, diversification, innovation, other control variables establish two‐way causal relationship Finally, for place, policy shocks predicted effects more than 1 year EU members, catalyses convergence speed. Besides, policies should be integrated framework sustainable development
