Heterogeneous rock masses that include rhythmic alternations of marl, shale, marly limestone, sandstone, siltstone, and argillite, such as Flysch, are particularly prone to generating colluvial deposits on gentle slopes, which often subject failures triggered by heavy rainfall. Flysch-derived soils made up highly heterogeneous sediments ranging from clayey loam fragments, they have been studied more rarely than homogeneous soils. In this work, we present a geotechnical hydraulic characterisation performed both in situ the laboratory flysch-derived were involved channelised landslide pre-alpine area Friuli Venezia Giulia region (NE Italy). The investigated characterised average values grain size composition about 25% gravel, 20% sand, 30% silt, clay. loamy matrix presented low-to-medium liquid plastic limits, well plasticity index (LL = 40%, PL 23%, PI 17%, respectively). peak friction angle for natural intact samples 33° < ϕ’p 38°, whereas residual fell 23–24° at great depths high vertical stresses, prevailing silty–clayey matrix. Variable head permeability tests laboratory, showing horizontal very close range 1 × 10−4–1 10−6 m/s. soil measured field was generally higher conductivity calculated samples. proposed hydrological can be fundamental importance before use thorough analyses/models aimed forecasting possible occurrence slope evaluating related hazard. reported parameters materials represent useful reference rainfall infiltration modelling stability analyses covers intense and/or prolonged precipitation. However, when facing engineering problems involving soils, those coming flysch masses, intrinsic variability their composition, consistency, characteristics is key feature attention should paid proper assumption corresponding parameters.

Landslide susceptibility prediction usually involves the comprehensive analysis of terrain and other factors that may be distributed with spatial patterns. Without considering correlation mutual influence between pixels, conventional methods often focus only on information from individual pixels. To address this issue, present study proposes a new strategy for neighboring pixel collaboration based Unified Perceptual Parsing Network (UPerNet), Vision Transformer (ViT), Graph Neural Networks (ViG). This efficiently utilizes strengths deep learning in feature extraction, sequence modeling, graph data processing. By can more accurately identify susceptible areas reduce misidentification omissions. The experimental results suggest proposed predict landslide zoning accurately. These predictions flat such as rivers distinguish high very susceptibility. Such refined outcomes are significant prevention mitigation help decision-makers formulate targeted response measures.

Accurate landslide susceptibility assessment is vital for disaster prevention, but current mapping lacks systematic analysis of the underlying mechanisms between multi-scale factors and model performance. Taking Zhenxiong County as an example, this paper combines IV, WOE, LR models, PCA to reveal impact methodological differences scale selection on results, quantitatively evaluates them using ROC curves density statistics. Results show that: 1) The effect influencing significant. Natural such topography, geological conditions, rainfall play dominant roles at regional scale, while impacts human activities, features, soil erosion intensity are more pronounced local moderate scales. 2) results three models different spatial scales similar distribution trends. As increases, high/very high areas low/very low spread outward, medium shows a fragmented expansion outward first then agglomeration contraction inward. 3) Scale significantly affects accuracy mapping, expanding appropriately improves precision. IV WOE highest AUC 600-m buffer, peaks 400 m. In terms identification accuracy, performs best 400-m 100 -meter buffer. 4) Different methods have performances. Overall, best, followed by model, with lagging behind. high-risk area recognition, excels, relatively poorly. 5) method outcomes. excelled in global prediction whereas was effective pinpointing 100-m This proposes evaluation that integrates performance effects, enhancing prevention capabilities.
