As an urbanization effort propelled by administrative measures, city-county merger has been particularly prevalent in the district adjustments of prefecture-level cities China. However, there scant research focusing on policy’s impact efficiency green utilization urban land. We selected panel data from Chinese 2003 to 2020, employing slack-based measure (SBM) model that accounts for undesirable outputs, conjunction with Malmquist-Luenberger (ML) productivity index, land use cities. Building this, we utilized staggered difference-in-differences (DID) investigate policies expanding through leasing Our findings indicate generally led a decline Further mechanism analysis suggests local governments’ excessive focus economic development, leading low-quality development model, is significant factor contributing Specifically, policy indirectly reduces increasing industrial revenue, number polluting enterprises, lowering rationalization level structure, and raising overachievement growth targets. reveals heterogeneous impacts across different regions, city sizes, levels, planning types. The more inhibitory effect non-eastern smaller cities, peripheral underdeveloped resource-based study confirms as reform initiative, effectiveness still relies traditional extensive based expansion, which not conducive enhancing

In the context of global warming and rapid urbanization, urban wind-heat environment has become increasingly prominent. Although identification ventilation corridors been well investigated, impact on thermal remains unclear. Here, we use single-window algorithm circuit theory method to analyze characteristics land surface temperature (LST) in four megacities China, so as quantify effect environment. Results show that works for identifying corridors. Moreover, find spatial distribution one city is remarkably different from another. Interestingly, corridors, which consist green spaces, waters, roads, have a remarkable mitigation LST each mitigated by 2.39 ℃, 3.22 2.11 ℃ 2.60 respectively, cooling intensity summer better than winter. Thus, it great significance arrange form alleviate high residents.

Optimizing urban land use is of significant practical importance for promoting economic development, enhancing the standard living individuals residing in metropolitan areas, infrastructure and public services, driving transformation upgrading, attaining synchronized progress economy, society, environment. This paper uses super-efficiency SBM model to measure efficiency (ULUE) 13 cities Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) agglomeration from 2005 2020 explores spatiotemporal evolution characteristics influencing factors ULUE this using analysis spatial data application geographic detector methods. The results show that (1) 2020, BTH had an initial rise followed by a decline; however, overall score above 1, suggesting effective state; (2) distribution pattern with Beijing as its core was established, exhibiting greater northern region poorer southern region, correlation values between adjacent cities; (3) capital input, labor social welfare, ecological environment are all promote improvement interaction any two explains better than single factor. empirical research can provide useful references improving input–output ratio units further planning policy formulation region.

The urban built-up land green use efficiency (UBLGUE) of the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration (CPUA) is greatly affected by China Rise policy. However, studies on how socioeconomic factors affect UBLGUE in underdeveloped agglomerations are lacking, and little empirical research has placed particular emphasis Based statistical data 2003–2020, this study explores dynamic spatial–temporal characteristics determines influencing mechanism CPUA via super-SBM–DEA method panel regression model. results indicate following: average prefecture cities presents a significant fluctuating trend from 2003 to 2020. characterized spatial imbalance. Over period Rise, main differentiation economic development, industrial structure, environmental regulation intensity, energy consumption intensity. strong attributes positively promoted development. In contrast, intensity significantly hinder UBLGUE. Energy strongest negative effect Finally, corresponding policy recommendations proposed promote based conclusions obtained.
