Microplastics (MPs) are a continuous and subtle environmental problem; they have already been identified as significant issue in aquatic habitats well human health. Although MP contamination is pervasive throughout land, sea, air, these often thought of separate entities; nevertheless, intertwined. This review aims to provide comprehensive overview pollution-causing MPs, their prevalence, the potential pathways for contaminants identify research gaps so that future priorities may be determined. According research, UV radiation low temperatures aid degradation typical plastic into tiny particles, known which then enter marine ecosystem via runoff. Furthermore, recent has revealed near urban centers greater levels MPs organisms from locations buildup bodies. In addition, other water pollutants, such dyes, heavy metals, chemicals, observed adhere readily serve transporter many pollutants bodies species. Thus, current study examines: i) distribution; ii) detrimental impacts on biodiversity. We conclude by highlighting opportunities; therefore, this will help inspire further scientists policymakers minimize negative impacts.
