This review provides an analysis of experimental results on the study alkaline heterogeneous deacetylation chitin obtained by authors and also published in literature. Abstract Growing concerns about the harmful impact of synthetic polymers on environment and living organisms have shifted attention towards biopolymers which are environment‐friendly biocompatible. Biopolymers represent attractive sustainable biodegradable alternatives for replacing commercial polymers. Chitosan is one most prevalent available Earth. an alkaline cationic polymer, deacetylated form chitin. possesses excellent physicochemical properties such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, nontoxic, nonallergenic, biologically active molecules. During recent years, there has been a surge in demand chitosan various fields, however, due to poor water solubility mechanical properties, applications limited some extent.
