The current study evaluates hot water A. milleri sunflower extracts at 40 °C temperature (AMSE40) for their antibacterial, anti-biofilm, antiviral and anticancer activities. AMSE40 exhibited excellent antioxidant activity with an IC50 of 1.17 mg/mL (ascorbic acid) was found to be rich in phytochemical compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, saponins, tannins, concentrations 1.23%, 351.60 mg/g, 152.50 0.98%, 146.35 respectively. showed strong antibacterial anti-biofilm against four multidrug-resistant isolates, comprising E. faecalis, S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumonia minimum bactericidal (25 mg/mL) inhibitory (12.5 all isolates. (62.5 µg/mL) efficacy CoxB4 (9.1%) HSV-1 (34.4%). Additionally, induced DNA fragmentation liver cell lines, indicating death. cytotoxic concentration had a mild impact on Vero (283.2 µg) HepG2 cells (76.4 µg). has the potential serve natural eco-friendly source innovative pharmaceutical medical applications.

Populus × tomentiglandulosa (PT), a tree endemic to Korea, shows promising potential as natural therapeutic agent owing its potent anti-inflammatory properties. However, the isolation and analysis of phytochemical compounds in PT related species remains underexplored. Therefore, this study aims investigate biochemical profile evaluate extracts fractions for activities. Nine were isolated, including two novel flavonoids (luteolin 7-O- β - d- glucuronide butyl ester chrysoeriol ester) from Salicaceae family first time. The ethyl acetate fraction exhibited significant radical scavenging activity against various radicals, DPPH, ABTS + , • OH, O 2 – radicals. showed minimal cytotoxicity Raw 264.7 macrophages at concentrations below 500 100 μg/mL, respectively. Furthermore, significantly suppressed protein expression proinflammatory mediators (iNOS IL-6) LPS-stimulated macrophages, highlighting their effects. These findings suggest that holds promise valuable intervention oxidative stress inflammation-related disorders, underscoring need further exploration clinical applications.

The present study evaluated the influence of habitat characteristics on phytochemical composition and antioxidant properties Pelargonium graveolens. Among different sites assessed, Mahdia area showed highest protein fat content at 6.8% 3.7%, respectively. Additionally, plants from same region exhibited energy value 412.1 kcal/100g. originating Kairouan displayed elevated levels Mg Ca, followed by those collected Sejnane region. Notably, iron was observed in harvested Mahdia. These variations were attributed to several factors such as geographical location, altitude average rainfall. Extract demonstrated secondary metabolites, with total phenolic 388 mg GAE/g flavonoid 80 QE/g. Regarding activity, graveolens Kairouan, most potent scavenging activity against DPPH ferric reducing power. results underscored species' potential a valuable natural source bioactive compounds within its ecological niche.

Plants have developed unique mechanisms to cope with the harsh environmental conditions compensate for their lack of mobility. A key part coping is synthesis secondary metabolites. In addition role in plants’ defense against pathogens, they also possess therapeutic properties diseases, and use by humans predates written history. Viruses are a class submicroscopic agents, incapable independent existence outside living host. Pathogenic viruses continue pose significant threat on global health, leading unprecedented fatalities yearly basis. The medicinal plants as natural source an-tiviral agents has been widely reported literature past decades. Metabolomics powerful research tool identification plant metabolites antiviral potentials can be used isolate compounds activities study biosynthetic pathways involved viral disease progression. This review discusses special focus metabolomics evidence supporting efficacy. Additionally, suggestions made optimization various methods characterizing bio-active subsequent understanding mechanism operation.
