The investigation of temporal and spatial variations in land use within coastal cities plays a crucial role facilitating the scientific utilization resources these areas. In our study, we focused on regions Jiangsu as designated study area, aiming to analyze patterns dynamic changes paddy, upland, woodland, grassland, water built-up from 2000 2020. outcomes revealed that cultivated dominated research encompassing an area ranging 23, 352.8 24, 820.9 km , which accounted for 76.0% 80.8% total area. most prominent observations regarding were continuous reduction paddy fields upland areas, experienced declines 1, 086.67 381.35 respectively. Conversely, areas exhibited increases 003.61 682.67 transfer matrix analysis indicated absolute decrease was particularly significant during 2000-2020 period, with being predominantly converted into land. Specifically, conversion amounted 1,315.13 846.64 respectively, over aforementioned period. Between 2005 2010, 48.61% 46.42%, amounting 639.31 393.04 . These findings underscore ongoing need protection cities. Our provides theoretical foundation sustainable management

Strengthening the exploration of synergistic promotion mechanisms between ecosystem services (ESs) and new urbanization is great significance for watershed development. In this work, we revealed evolution mechanism coupling coordination development degree (CCD) ESs its driving factors in Huaihe River Basin (HRB) from 1980 to 2020 using a combination CCD model, Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) method, GeoDetector model. Additionally, employed PLUS model investigate multi-scenario simulations. The results demonstrate that showed decline initially, followed by an increase, while index consistent annual growth over four decades. Furthermore, yearly optimization trend. demonstrated notable spatial clustering characteristics, with such as precipitation, distance water body, elevation, per area GDP emerged primary drivers. Under scenarios ecological protection, comprehensive development, natural value 2050 maintained upward trend; however, it fell decrease under scenario cropland protection. These research findings offer valuable decision-making support differentiated regulation functions high-quality HRB.

Understanding the processes and potential mechanisms of species coexistence within biological communities is a key issue in biodiversity conservation. The Huaihe River Basin, situated transitional zone between northern southern China, encompasses diverse wetland types its middle reaches, including lakes, ponds, rivers, subsidence areas. This unique combination habitats provides an ideal natural laboratory for investigating governing bird community dynamics. Here, we quantified species, taxonomic, functional, phylogenetic diversity waterbird across different types. To assess patterns clustering or overdispersion, compared mean pairwise distance (MPD) nearest taxon (MNTD) to null models, employing functional dendrograms trees as analytical frameworks. Additionally, hierarchical partitioning approach was employed evaluate independent contributions multi-scale environmental variables assembly processes. indicators among display asynchronous patterns, reflecting variations ecological dynamics these habitats, with highest river wetlands. Our findings reveal that filtering predominantly governs monotonous open water bodies. In contrast, wetlands characterized by high heterogeneity are primarily shaped competitive exclusion, which emerges mechanism influencing structure. Moreover, our research demonstrates increasing habitat drives shift from greater dispersion. study highlights importance structuring assemblages suggests will contribute

Exploring the landscape ecological security pattern and its driving mechanisms in key economic zones is of great significance for preventing resolving risks promoting regional sustainable development. This study quantitatively analyzed land use change characteristics Huaihe River Eco-economic Belt from 1980 to 2020 using transfer matrix intensity index. Further, evolution their were investigated index hierarchical partitioning analysis. The results show that (1) terms absolute area, dryland, grassland, paddy decreased by 7075 km2, 2708 1874 respectively, while urban–rural water area increased 10,538 km2 1336 respectively. In intensity, land, unused exhibited most dramatic change, whereas forest dryland weaker change. (2) conversions primarily between land. Paddy tended convert which further likely be transformed into when converted. (3) mainly presented medium low risk. Overall, risk remained stable throughout period. Nevertheless, Jining, Zaozhuang, Bengbu high construction zone. (4) Forest explained 40% variance risk, each 20% variance. Regional landscape ecological risk (LER) assessment is of great significance for coordinating the relationship between land use and environment, promoting rational allocation resources, it basis guarantee achieving sustainable development. By assessing Huaihe River economic zone, can promote development theory, provide a scientific formulation civilization construction planning policies, help to strengthen environmental monitoring, management, civilization. Based on remote sensing image data from 1985 2020, spatiotemporal evolution characteristics LER in Anhui section Ecological Economic Belt China were explored. The results showed that: (1) an increasing trend, with increased area 4753.35 km2, whereas cultivated negative growth reduced 4487.58 km2. (2) During past 35 years, risks research decreasing trend as whole, medium-low medium-risk areas ranking main; medium-high high-risk are mainly distributed both sides northern-central part Suzhou City. (3) Moran's I values each period showing significant spatial autocorrelation tending converge spatially. In future, security pattern should be optimized local deterioration areas.
