Exploring digital literacy in the era of digital civilization: A framework for college students in China DOI Open Access

Cultivating the digital literacy of all citizens, especially for college students, would contribute to construction a ‘Learning Society’ where everybody loves learning and offer powerful impetus building modern country. First, this paper reviews origins general definitions computer literacy, network media information literacy. Compared with similar terminologies, features subjective initiatives actively improve one’s others’ skills, competence, awareness thinking mode adapting to, qualifying creating new age society. Second, internal logic in Digital Literacy Framework College Students (DLFCS) can be summarized as ‘Skills-Competencies-Awareness’ attributing evolution progress ‘digital technologies utilization, actual problems solving, cultivation’. Following logic, develops DLFCS through scene-based requirements analysis professional consultations, including three areas (i.e. operational applied competencies, & awareness), identifying fifteen descriptors their examples key performances.
