Abstract The hypnotizability‐related differences in morpho‐functional characteristics of the insula could at least partially account for interoceptive accuracy (IA) observed between high and low hypnotizable individuals (highs, lows). Our aim was to investigate processing highs, lows, medium (mediums), who represent most population, during a 10‐minute open eyes relaxation condition (Part 1) three repetitions consecutive 2‐minute eyes, closed heartbeat counting conditions, followed by post‐counting 2). Electrocardiogram electroencephalogram were recorded 14 mediums, 18 classified according Stanford Hypnotic Susceptibility Scale: Form A. Heartbeat‐evoked cortical potentials (HEP) extracted throughout entire session, IA index obtained task (HCT). In Part 1, significant right central region both early late HEP components, with lows showing positive amplitudes highs/mediums negative amplitudes. 2, same group limited component. Moreover, left frontal regions, only mediums modified their respect open/closed whereas highs displayed rest. HCT did not show differences. conclusion, seem be more similar than regarding HEP, despite absence HCT. Nonetheless, correlation hypnotizability scores regions

Interoception, the neural sensing of visceral signals, and interoceptive awareness (IA), conscious perception interoception, are crucial for life survival functions mental health. Resilience, capacity to overcome adversity, has been associated with reduced disturbances. Here, we sought evidence our Insula Modular Active Control (IMAC) model that suggest insula, a brain region specialized in processing information, realizes IA contributes resilience health via cortico-subcortical connections.

Abstract Interoception is one of the pivotal cognitive functions for mechanisms our body awareness, and malfunction interoceptive network thought to be associated with mental illness, including addiction. Within addictive disorders, substance‐based non‐substance‐based addictions are known hold dissociable reward systems. However, little about how awareness between these addiction sub‐types would differ. Subjective was assessed among patients alcohol use disorder ( n = 50) who were subsequently hospitalized or remained out‐patient gambling 41) by Body Awareness component Japanese version Perception Questionnaire (BPQ‐VSFBA‐J) compared them against healthy control 809). Both groups showed significantly lower BPQ than control, no substantial differences inpatients outpatients samples. Notably, scores those group. Hypnotizability-related differences in interoception may be relevant to emotion regulation. The present study examined the relationships between hypnotizability, interoceptive sensibility (IS) and accuracy (IA), use of cognitive reappraisal expressive suppression. One hundred two healthy volunteers, assessed for completed questionnaires assessing absorption, state anxiety, IS A portion them (N = 62) participated heartbeat counting task, measuring IA. was positively associated with hypnotizability negatively IA showed no relationship Mediation analysis revealed that indirectly predicted through both Participants high low were more likely suppression than participants medium hypnotizability. Abstract Thought control ability (TCA) plays an important role in individuals' health and happiness. Previous studies demonstrated that TCA was closely conceptually associated with However, empirical research supporting this relationship limited. In addition, the neural basis underlying how influences between happiness remain unexplored. present study, voxel‐based morphometry (VBM) method adopted to investigate neuroanatomical of 314 healthy subjects. Abstract Background Late-life depression (LLD) predisposes individuals to cognitive decline, often leading misdiagnoses as mild impairment (MCI). Voxel-based morphometry (VBM) can distinguish the profiles of these disorders according gray matter (GM) volumes. We integrated findings from previous VBM studies for comparative analysis and extended research into molecular facilitate inspection intervention. Methods comprehensively searched PubMed Web Science that compared LLD MCI cases with matched healthy controls (HCs) inception 31st December 2023. included 13 on (414 LLDs, 350 HCs) 50 (1878 MCIs, 2046 HCs). Seed-based d Mapping Permutation Subject Images (SDM-PSI) was used voxel-based meta-analysis assess GM atrophy, spatially correlated neuropsychological profiles. then multimodal linear-model similarities differences in volumetric changing patterns. Partial least squares (PLS) regression gene enrichment were employed transcription-neuroimaging associations. Results volumes left hippocampus right parahippocampal gyrus are more affected MCI, along memory impairment. a extensive reduction levels neurotransmitters severe downregulation genes related cellular potassium ion transport metal transmembrane transporter activity. Conclusion Compared LLD, exhibited atrophy lower expression transport. Our provided imaging-transcriptomic-genetic integrative differential diagnosis precise intervention between MCI.
