Abstract
The
present
study
reports
the
synthesis
of
ZnMn₂O₄
nanoparticles
via
sol-gel
method
using
tragacanth
gum
(TG)
as
a
stabilizer.
investigation
used
XRD
and
FTIR
analyses
were
performed
to
determine
structural
characteristics.
analysis
found
Zn-O
Mn-O
vibration
peaks
which
demonstrate
presence
ZnMn₂O₄.
band
gap
energy
for
synthesized
through
Tauc’s
plot
is
1.45
eV.
pattern
confirmed
formation
with
spinel
tetragonal
structure
an
average
crystallite
size
17.7
nm.
electron
microscopic
images
showed
that
product
consisted
irregularly
shaped
spherical
particles.
Sample
EDX
shows
material
contain
Zn,
Mn
alongside
O
in
their
composition.
antibacterial
activity
ZnMn2O4
was
tested
Gram
negative
positive
bacteria
namely
Escherichia
coli,
Bacillus
subtilis
Staphylococcus
aureus
Cereus.
results
suggest
compound
has
high
potential
against
some
bacteria,
especially
E.
coli
cereus
could
be
considered
alternative
or
complement
conventional
antibiotics.
