This study compared standard VAR, SVAR with short-run restrictions, and long-run restrictions to investigate the effects of oil price shocks foreign exchange rate (ZAR/USD) on consumer prices in South Africa after 2008 financial crisis. The VAR model revealed that responded positively short term, whereas a fluctuating currency over time. That is, African rand (ZAR) initially appreciated against US dollar (USD) response (periods 1:7), followed by depreciation periods 8:12. This study explores risk management in Nigeria oil gas sector with reference to government equities Nigerian sector. A survey design was used for study.
