The rapid development of urban transportation renovation and networks in China has driven the construction an increasing number large-span, large cross-section tunnels under sensitive environments, such as airport runways, critical infrastructure, high-speed railways. These projects often require strict settlement control within a millimeter-level tolerance range, thus theoretical methods key technologies for micro-settlement have been developed. This study first derives calculation formula surface associated with elucidates its correlations factors pipe-roof stiffness, support system procedures, groundwater level changes. Theoretical approaches controlling are introduced, including reinforcing system, mitigating group pipe effects, maintaining pressure reducing resistance around pipe, levels. A method is proposed determining appropriate stiffness roof system. should be selected from transition segment between steep decline gentle slope on stiffness-settlement curves If primary combined temporary fails to meet requirements, integrated greater can adopted. reasonable pressure-regulating grouting technique proposed. It recommended that spacing simultaneous jacking pipes than half width trough. For over-consolidation-sensitive strata medium or coarse sands, water-blocking measures, freezing, grouting, combination both, recommended. over-consolidation-insensitive like gravels cobbles strong permeability, treatments generally unnecessary. successfully implemented tunnel beneath Beijing Capital Airport runways Taiyuan Railway Station, demonstrating their reliability. research findings provide valuable insights into similar projects.
