In insects, biogenic amines function as neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, and neurohormones, influencing various behaviors, including those related to reproduction such response sex pheromones, oogenesis, oviposition, courtship, mating. Octopamine (OA), an analog of the vertebrate norepinephrine, is synthesized from amine tyramine by enzyme β-hydroxylase (TβH). Here, we investigate mechanisms target genes underlying role OA in successful females Rhodnius prolixus , a vector Chagas disease, downregulating TβH mRNA expression (thereby reducing content) using RNA interference (RNAi), vivo ex application OA. Injection with dsTβH impairs at least part, decreasing transcript enzymes involved juvenile hormone biosynthesis, primary for oogenesis R . thereby interfering ovulation oviposition. This study offers valuable insights into involvement females. Understanding reproductive biology crucial medical context controlling spread disease.

Pathogenic viruses can be transmitted by female Aedes aegypti (Ae. aegypti) mosquitoes during blood-meal acquisition from vertebrates. Silencing of mosquito- and midgut-specific microRNA (miRNA) 1174 (miR-1174) impairs blood intake increases mortality. Determining the identity proteins metabolites that respond to miR-1174 depletion will increase our understanding molecular mechanisms this miRNA in controlling blood-feeding nutrient metabolism mosquitoes. Antisense oligonucleotides (antagomirs [Ant]) Ant-1174 Ant-Ct were injected into Ae. at 12-20 h posteclosion, was confirmed reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR). The control of reproductive processes in Rhodnius prolixus involves a variety neuroactive chemicals. Among these, several studies have suggested that the biogenic amine octopamine (OA), might play an active role these processes. Here, we investigate molecular profile R . α adrenergic-like OA receptor 1 (RpOAα1-R) and its egg production. Comparative analyses confirm RpOAα1-R gene codes for true OAα1 receptor. transcript is highly expressed tissues associated with production, after blood meal, which stimulus full production , upregulated ovaries spermatheca. After RNAi-mediated knockdown, ovarian phenotype characterized by slow development observed. Furthermore, altered has been eggs are deformed. Interestingly, there no evidence disruption vitellogenin (Vg) synthesis fat body or uptake oocytes. On other hand, downregulation correlated defective choriogenesis eggs. These results provide critical information concerning OAα1-R oogenesis
