A flexible bisacylhydrazone ligand (H4L) was designed and synthesized from the condensation reaction of dialdehyde 3,3’-thiobis(methyiene)-bis-(5-methyl-salicylaldehyde) (b) with isonicotinic hydrazide. In DMSO/methanol solution, two coordination polymers (CPs), formulated as {[Ag(H4L)NO3]·DMSO·2H2O}n (CP 1) {[Zn2(H2L2-)2]·3DMSO·3H2O}n 2), were H4L Ag(I) or Zn(II) ions, respectively. These CPs characterized via elemental analysis, FT-IR spectra, single crystal X-ray determination. The results show that CP 1 exists a 1D looped-chain polymer, while 2 2D sheet polymer. configurations analyzed compared in detail, which disclose terminal pyridyl nitrogen atoms exhibit obviously stronger ability to other sites. addition, photophysical, electrochemical antibacterial properties investigated.

Abstract The Schiff base condensation reaction between precursor diamine N,N'-bis(2-aminophenyl)-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide and 1,8-naphthyridine-2-carbaldehyde yielded a racemic compound (LP/LM), which was characterized by 1H/13C NMR, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, single crystal X-ray diffraction. Three complexes, [Hg2LI4] (1), [Hg2LBr4] (2), [Hg2L2Cl4]‧2H2O (3) with different coordination configurations were obtained from the of this HgX2 (X = I, Br, Cl), respectively, their structures geometries determined via diffraction techniques. Both 1 2 exist as dinuclear complexes 1:2 molar ratio L Hg(II), while 3 exists 44-membered metallamacrocycle 1:1 Hg(II). structural diversity these three indicates that counter anions have significant effects on topology. In addition, solid-state luminescence gas adsorption towards methanol vapor at room temperature investigated.

In Co3+ two organic molecules present. coordination polyhedron around center best described as distorted octahedral CoN4O2 chromophore. crystal structure stabilized intramolecular intermolecular hydrogen bonds.

A bis(salicylaldehyde acylhydrazone) Schiff base ligand (H4L) was designed and synthesized from the condensation reaction. Four complexes, formulated as {[Cd(H5L+)Cl3]·2CH3OH}n (1), {[Cd(H4L)Br2]·H2O}n (2), {[Cd2(H4L)2I4]·CH3OH}n (3), [Cu3(L4-)(Ac)2]·CH3OH·H2O (4) were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 exists a 2D sheet structure each Cd(II) ion in complex is six-coordinated with octahedral geometry. Both complexes 2 3 exist 1D zig-zag structures two five-coordinated trigonal bipyramidal 4 centrosymmetric trinuclear structure, which Cu(II) ions are square pyramidal geometry other The structural differences attributed to coordination ability of sites configurations metal ions. Furthermore, alcohol vapor adsorption measurements showed that all exhibited good capacities toward methanol vapor.
