Abstract Dyslipidemia ( Dassumat-e-Dam ), a condition characterized by abnormal lipid levels in the blood, is major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. In Unani medicine, refers to accumulation of harmful substances potentially correlating with modern concepts dyslipidemia. The System Medicine emphasizes holistic approaches, including dietary and lifestyle modifications, along natural remedies restore humoral balance. This case study aims evaluate efficacy management treating patient diagnosed A 45-year-old male presenting elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TGs), alongside reduced high-density (HDL), . comprehensive regimen was implemented, comprising modifications ‘Ilāj bi’l Ghidhā changes Tadbīr pharmacological interventions using Cap Garcinia (a marketed product) pharmacopoeial preparations ‘Arq Mako Kasni (Distillate Solanum americanum Mill. Chichorium intybus L.), respectively, 90 days. results indicated significant improvement profile were observed, reductions cholesterol (137.47%), LDL (85%), TGs (82.01%), 19.4% increase HDL levels. reported improved overall well-being compliance regimen. No adverse effects noted. success this highlights potential traditional medicine as complementary approach managing offers promising alternative Further clinical studies larger sample sizes are recommended validate these findings explore long-term efficacy.

Context: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a major cause of vision impairment among diabetics, with significant regional variations in its prevalence and associated risk factors across India. Aims: This study aims to assess the variation for DR, including demographic behavioral characteristics, identify differences severity DR four geographic zones Settings Design: Data were sourced from INDO EYE registry, encompassing six tertiary eye care hospitals The was designed analyze compare DR-related variables different zones: south, central, west, east. Subjects Methods: analyzed data 7112 eyes 3699 patients diagnosed DR. Demographic, clinical, collected, age, gender, substance abuse history, comorbidities, . Statistical Analysis Used: Descriptive statistics summarized clinical characteristics. Chi-square tests assessed associations between categorical variables, one-way ANOVA evaluated continuous zones. significance set at P < 0.05, analysis performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 28. Results: revealed factors. central zone had highest proportion proliferative diabetic macular edema, while south west showed better visual outcomes higher proportions certain comorbidities. east exhibited rates broader range acuity outcomes. Conclusions: Regional disparities highlight need targeted public health strategies address local improve diabetes management Enhanced healthcare access tailored interventions are crucial reducing loss.

Exserolides are isocoumarin derivatives containing lactone moiety. Recently, some isocoumarins have been demonstrated to ameliorate hyperlipidemia, a major factor for inducing cardiovascular diseases. However, the effects and mechanisms of action exserolides on hyperlipidemia not known. The aim this study is investigate whether marine fungus Setosphaeria sp.-derived (compounds I, J, E, F) exert lipid-lowering via improving reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) in vitro. RAW264.7 macrophages HepG2 cells were used establish lipid-laden models, levels intracellular lipids RCT-related proteins determined by assay kits Western blotting, respectively. We observed that (at 5 μM concentration) significantly decreased triglyceride oxidized low-density lipoprotein-laden markedly improved [3H]-cholesterol efflux. Among four tested compounds, exserolide J increased protein ATP-binding cassette transporter A1, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα), liver X (LXRα). Furthermore, treatment with oleic acid-laden lipid accumulation hepatocytes. Mechanistically, enhance PPARα levels; furthermore, compound increases 7 alpha-hydroxylase A1 LXRα levels. Molecular docking revealed exserolides, particularly can interact proteins. These data suggest terminal carboxyl group plays key role lowering stimulating In conclusion, exhibits powerful its hypolipidemic vivo should be investigated future.

The frequency of coronary artery disease (CAD) has alarmingly increased in India accounting for the majority all fatalities. primary risk factor CAD, acute myocardial infarction, and stroke is dyslipidemia. CAD can be ascertained by lipid profile as well atherogenic indices. Due to current scenario prevalence established role dyslipidemia a this study aimed at identifying prevalent abnormalities tertiary care hospital Telangana studying predictive value indices assessing risk.

Background & Objectives: Hematological and lipid profiles play crucial roles in assessing healthconditions monitoring physiological abnormalities. serve as valuable tools this context, providing insights into various health conditions. However, due to factors like diet, socioeconomic status, literacy, these can differ significantly across populations. Therefore, we aimed find out the hematological well biochemical parameters among patients attending Ram Janaki Hospital, Janakpurdham.Materials Methods: This hospital based study involved 140 medicineOPD between September 2023 February 2024. Anthropometric measurements, blood pressure, and BMI was calculated. Venous samples were collected. wereassessed using a fully utomated hematology analyzer, while evaluated usingsemi analyzer Erba Chem 7 with ErbaDiagnostics kits. Data analysis performedusing SPSS version 21.Results: The population comprised an equal distribution of males females. Males exhibitedhigher values weight, height, BMI, pressure compared Hematologicalanalysis revealed higher hemoglobin levels, red cell counts, packed volume males, while females showed total leukocyte counts. Lipid profile indicated totalcholesterol LDL levels males, whereas had HDL, triglyceride, VLDLlevels. Conclusion: finding highlights significant gender differences anthropometric, hematological, Janakpurdham. findings emphasizethe importance considering clinical evaluations treatment plans. Background: This study investigates the possible synergistic influence of probiotics, specifically Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA) and Bacillus coagulans (BC), in conjunction with Simvastatin (SMV) for treating Rhabdomyolysis hypercholesteremic rats. Aim: The aims to evaluate combined effects SMV LA or BC on various health parameters rats induced rhabdomyolysis. Methods: Hypercholesteremic rhabdomyolysis were treated SMV, LA, BC, combinations BC. measured body weight, lipid profiles, renal function, skeletal muscle, inflammation markers. Results: combination treatments showed promise reducing weight gain. Regarding tandem demonstrated slightly enhanced efficacy regulation compared other combinations. Both probiotic strains exhibited substantial potential preserving nephron function alongside SMV. Probiotic helped mitigate muscle dysfunction. inflammation, both alleviated symptomatic Notably, excelled dampening inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α IL-6, surpassing LA. Conclusion: administration effectively mitigates rhabdomyolysis-induced issues, varying impacts diverse outcomes. Future investigations are imperative comprehensively ascertain optimal regimen managing These positive outcomes underscore multifaceted roles probiotics addressing rhabdomyolysis-related complications, emphasizing necessity further exploration into their mechanisms clinical implications.
