Abstract
In
this
study,
a
thiourea‐glutaraldehyde
double‐crosslinked
sodium
alginate/chitosan
alginate
(GL‐STC)
was
meticulously
designed
and
synthesized
through
electrostatic
covalent
interactions.
The
structure
morphologies
of
GL‐STC
were
thoroughly
characterized
using
SEM‐EDS,
FT‐IR
XPS.
results
revealed
that
exhibited
layered
porous
structure,
which
achieved
by
incorporating
thiourea
glutaraldehyde
(GL)
as
crosslinking
agents.
adsorption
Cr
6+
found
to
be
spontaneous
endothermic
process.
removal
efficiency
exceeded
60%
within
the
pH
range
2–6,
with
highest
rate
reaching
98%
at
=
3.
maximum
capacity
determined
271.83
mg·g
−1
.
Anions
significantly
inhibit
Langmuir
isotherm
model
pseudo‐first‐order
kinetic
deemed
more
appropriate
for
describing
equilibrium
GL‐STC.
Furthermore,
possible
mechanisms
underlying
primarily
involved
attraction,
ion
exchange,
reduction
complexation.

research
contributes
field
environmental
material
science
offers
novel
water
treatment
technologies,

practical
