Smart materials with outstanding self-healing and reprocessable capabilities are highly desirable for next-generation coatings that can repair damaged in a timely autonomous manner. However, their prevalent use practical applications is currently hindered by various limitations, such as low mechanical strength, long healing time, expensive raw materials. Herein, we prepared epoxy resin coating (EP-SS-DAAX) excellent properties incorporating dynamic disulfide bonds flexible chains into the network. The presence of promoted mobility molecular exchange bonds, resulting efficient high toughness coating. EP-SS-DAA2 obtained tensile strength 33.30 MPa breaking elongation 150.55% after 1 h on basis achieving efficiency (93.68%) be reprocessed through hot-pressing recovery rate 107.03%. As proof concept, healed demonstrated anticorrosive effects being immersed 3.5 wt % NaCl aqueous solution 7 days. This study provides feasible approach to obtaining high-performance resins have extraordinary integrated performance.

In this work, biobased flame-retardant polyurethanes were designed. First, a vanillin-based diol (VDP), as the hard segment, was prepared by condensation and addition reactions of vanillin with DDM (4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane) DOPO (9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide). Then, polyurethane materials FRBPU-xP polycondensation reaction different contents VDP, crystallized polycaprolactone diol, HDI modulating amount (x) P. Interestingly, when VDP increased from 0 to 14.5 wt % (P = 1.0%) PCL decreased 82.4 64.8 %, Tg significantly −34.7 2.8 °C, while tensile strength 10.7 15.6 MPa elongation at break 822% 930%, showing simultaneous mechanical strengthening toughening. These behaviors can be ascribed (1) increase diols enhancement intermolecular interactions (2) decrease crystallinity 21.2% 14.5% due decreasing content inhibiting crystallization behavior induced which helped improve ductility material. Furthermore, LOI value FRBPU-0.5P reached 29.6%, material achieved UL-94 V-0 rating. addition, showed good reprocessability, FRBPU-1.0P had retention 72.6% 93.3% for its after thermal remolding, respectively. This work provides an idea preparation high-performance polyurethane.

<p>Lignin, the most abundant natural aromatic compound on earth, offers valuable resources for development of bio–based polymers. In recent years, a plethora diverse polymer materials has been reported using either separated lignin or lignin–derived monomers. this review, we present comprehensive summary achievements and compare these two well–known strategies. While utilizing directly as starting advantages in terms cost–effectiveness wider options, employing monomers suffer from higher costs limited structural variety. However, well–defined structure lignin-derived monomers, retention functional group characteristics make promising strategy future applications. Through review paper, aim to inspire more researchers material science focus lignin—an intriguing emerging carbon-neutral biomaterial.</p>

Polyurethane (PU) is among the most universal polymers and has been extensively applied in many fields, such as construction, machinery, furniture, clothing, textile, packaging biomedicine. Traditionally, main starting materials for PU, polyols deeply depend on petroleum stock. From perspective of recycling environmental friendliness, advanced PU synthesis, using diversified resources feedstocks, aims to develop versatile products with excellent properties achieve transformation from a fossil fuel-driven energy economy renewable sustainable ones. This review focuses recent development synthesis modification by extracting value-added monomers waste natural bio-based polymers, recycled polymers: polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate (PC); biomaterials: vegetable oil, lignin, cashew nut shell liquid plant straw; biomacromolecules: polysaccharides protein. To design these polyurethane formulations, it essential understand structure-property relationships polyols. In word, this bottom-up path provides material approach printing packaging, well biomedical, building wearable electronics applications.
