In recent years, research on active polysaccharides has progressed significantly, particularly regarding their anticancer and immunomodulatory properties. Among these, clam polysaccharides, a type of marine-derived polysaccharide, exhibit notable biological activities, including both effects immune modulation. The aims this study are to investigate the microwave-extracted polysaccharide (MCP) in vitro. Cell experiments demonstrated that MCP significantly inhibited colony formation migration HT-29 cells. Furthermore, treatment with led downregulation Bcl-2 gene expression, reduction mitochondrial membrane potential, activation cytochrome C caspase-3 gene, and, finally, induction apoptosis cells, implying involvement pathway. Additionally, was found prompt phenotypic shift macrophages from M2 M1 subtype M0 subtype. also decreased reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels within cancer thereby augmenting efficacy through dual mechanism antioxidant enhancement. These findings suggest MCPs present significant potential as natural antitumor agents immunomodulators, especially development functional foods or drugs.
