Abstract Flooding occurs when river water overflows its channel or inundates low-lying areas without adequate drainage. Heavy rainfall, reduced drainage capacity, topography, land use change and tidal influence are all factors that cause flooding. The socio-economic developmental impacts of this disaster in Indonesia significant. One them is Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Sanggai Watershed a watershed located Province, where there an area has been designated as the new National Capital to replace Jakarta. 7 (seven) rivers flow into Balikpapan Bay, namely Trunen, Semuntai, Sanggai, Sepaku, Semoi, Pemaluan, Baruangin. Pemaluan Sub Watershed, with 124.43 km 2 drained by River. River often experiences flooding due high rainfall intensity, long rain duration, low culvert narrowing absence system residential areas, provincial roadside resulting environmental, community economic losses. Especially terms flood management, above problems need attention. Since no previous research discusses hazard assessment area, study aims conduct approach emphasizes inundation review detail quantitative classification mapping, will be simulated 2D unsteady data availability using HECRAS 6.5 software. Referring NADM parameter criteria category which 6.22 Km , while MPWH very 3.46 .
