The electrochemical conversion of oxygen holds great promise in the development sustainable energy for various applications, such as water electrolysis, regenerative fuel cells, and rechargeable metal-air batteries. Oxygen electrocatalysts are needed that both highly efficient affordable, since they can serve alternatives to costly precious-metal-based catalysts. This aspect is particularly significant their practical implementation on a large scale future. Herein, porous polyhedron-entrapped metal–organic framework (MOF)-assisted CoTe2/MnTe2 heterostructure one-dimensional nanorods were initially synthesized using simple hydrothermal strategy then transformed into ZIF-67 followed by tellurization which was used bifunctional electrocatalyst evolution reaction (OER) reduction (ORR). designed MOF nanorod exhibited superior activity OER (η = 220 mV@ 10 mA cm–2) ORR (E1/2 0.81 V vs RHE) outstanding stability. exceptional achievement could be primarily credited structure, interconnected designs, deliberately created deficiencies enhanced electrocatalytic OER/ORR. improvement predominantly due surface area charge transfer inherent materials. Therefore, this cost-effective method produce active electrocatalysts.
