Abstract This Review Paper provides a comprehensive analysis of extraction methods for essential oils, focusing particularly on the innovative Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) technology. Essential derived from various plant parts, are highly valued their aromatic and therapeutic properties, finding applications in industries such as perfumery, aromatherapy, cosmetics, food flavoring. Traditional often face challenges, including prolonged times, excessive solvent usage, risk degrading sensitive compounds. In contrast, MAE has emerged superior alternative, offering significant advantages expedited processes, reduced consumption, enhanced preservation volatile study highlights key findings, optimal parameters MAE, microwave power, time, solvent‐to‐raw material ratios, which collectively influence yield quality oils. Notably, findings this survey, indicates that can achieve up to 40% increase oil compared conventional methods. The review also discusses evolution techniques, initial simple heating advanced systems incorporating infrared temperature sensors magnetic stirrers, improve precision efficiency.
