Studying the nonlinear dynamical systems and their stability is important for various engineering applications, especially with power systems. While previous studies have examined primary, subharmonic resonances quasiperiodicity in systems, phenomena of intermittency remain unfamiliar. This study analyses swing equation, which a second-order differential equation that characterises dynamic behaviour Intermittency, modelled by sudden bursts within periodic regions, plays vital role transition from to chaos. It also identifies conditions under occurs, mainly when varying inertia voltage machine. Numerical simulations, bifurcation diagrams, Poincar´e maps, heat maps Lyapunov exponents are used determine intermittency. Findings show happens as precursor chaos, affecting system. Results indicate small disturbances can induce instability, thereby providing insights into control aspect. contributes broader understanding highlights importance identifying precursors chaos mitigate adverse effects.

Hydrogen is expected to play an important role in decarbonizing different heavy industries and the transportation sector. Water electrolysis is, therefore, one of most rapidly spreading energy technologies, with PEM electrolyzers taking a continuously increasing share technology mix. Most often, aim form green hydrogen, utilizing electricity exclusively renewable origin. The intermittency such sources, however, poses several technological challenges financial questions. Focusing on electrolyzers, we discuss effect pressure, temperature, reaction rate changes, induced by intermittent operation, general thoughts regarding system component erosion caused regular start–stop cycles are also considered. As case study, present high-level techno-economic analysis data from pilot 1 MW system, coupled 20 PV farm, deployed Hungary. We underscore importance often overlooked local regulations incentives, which strongly influence beneficial operation scenario.
