Hidrogen berpotensi sebagai sumber energi bersih yang ideal untuk menurunkan emisi karbondioksida di masa depan. Hal ini dikarenakan hidrogen memiliki kepadatan tinggi sekitar 142.351 MJ/kg dan bebas dari gas beracun. Oleh karena itu, diperkirakan permintaan akan meningkat 18% pada tahun 2050 memenuhi kebutuhan pengganti bahan bakar fosil. Tujuan penelitian, yakni merangkum reaksi-reaksi redoks elektroda dalam metode elektrolisis udara laut, menampilkan berbagai elektrokatalis memproduksi media pendukung berlangsungnya proses produksi air laut. Hasil ditampilkan adalah adanya 3 reaksi laut terdiri atas Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER), Chlorine (CER), Hydrogen (HER). Adapun efisien mendukung HER sebanyak 25 buah. Selain terdapat 4 elektrolit kinerja H 2 SO , NaCl, KOH NaOH. pengembangan secara lebih lanjut patut dikembangkan guna mewujudkan Net Zero Emission.
