A national energy crisis has emerged in South Africa due to the country’s increasing needs recent years. The reliance on fossil fuels, especially oil and gas, is unsustainable scarcity, emissions, environmental repercussions. Researchers from all over world have recently concentrated their efforts finding carbon-free, renewable, alternative sources investigated microbiology biotechnology as a potential remedy. usage of microbial electrolytic cells (MECs) fuel (MFCs) one method for resolving problem. These technologies are evolving viable options hydrogen bioenergy production. renewable initiative Africa, which regarded model other African countries, developed allocation 6000 MW generation capacity bidders across several technologies, primarily wind solar. With total investment value R33.7 billion, Eastern Cape’s initiatives created 18,132 jobs, with province awarded 16 farms solar farm. Utilizing wastewater source MFCs been recommended most treatments, such activated sludge processes trickling filter plants, require roughly 1322 kWh per million gallons, whereas only small amount external power operate. cost treatment using an influent flow 318 m3 h−1 estimated be 9% (USD 6.4 million) by conventional plant 68.2 million). Currently, approximately 500 billion cubic meters (H2) generated worldwide each year, exhibiting growth rate 10%. This production comes natural gas (40%), heavy oils naphtha (30%), coal (18%), electrolysis (4%), biomass (1%). produced utilized manufacturing ammonia (49%), refining petroleum (37%), methanol (8%), variety smaller applications (6%). Considering Africa’s issue, this review article examines its impacts society critical issue global scenario green energy.
