SARS-CoV-2
pandemic
has

epidemiological

The
continual
evolution
of
SARS-CoV-2
has
significantly
influenced
the
global
response
to
COVID-19
pandemic,
with
emergence
highly
transmissible
and
immune-evasive
variants
posing
persistent
challenges.
Omicron
variant,
first
identified
in
November
2021,
rapidly
replaced
Delta
becoming
predominant
strain
worldwide.
In
Florida,
was
detected
December
leading
an
unprecedented
surge
cases
that
surpassed
all
prior
waves,
despite
extensive
vaccination
efforts.
This
study
investigates
molecular
transmission
dynamics
lineages
during
Florida’s
supported
by
a
robust
dataset
over
1000
sequenced
genomes.
Through
phylogenetic
phylodynamic
analyses,
we
capture
rapid
diversification
lineages,
identifying
significant
importation
events,
predominantly
from
California,
Texas,
New
York,
exportation

America,

Variants
such
as
BA.1,
BA.2,
BA.4,
BA.5
exhibited
distinct
patterns,
BA.2
showing
ability
reinfect
individuals
previously
infected
BA.1.
Despite
high
transmissibility

sub-lineages,
plateauing
late
2022
suggests
increasing
population
immunity

vaccination.

findings
underscore
importance
continuous
genomic
surveillance

introductions,
