To achieve the early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD), noninvasive hemodialysis monitoring, and accurate determination dialysis duration adequacy, a noninvasive, point-of-care, user-friendly device should be developed. Here, flexible, room temperature NH3 gas sensor sensitive to key breath biomarkers CKD─NH3 creatinine─was fabricated. The had detection limits 100 ppb for 1 ppm creatinine. Clinically, total 96 exhaled samples, half from 39 CKD patients other 48 healthy controls were collected analyzed. With assistance pattern recognition algorithm , was achieved by sensor, with PCA being used due sensor's cross-sensitivity biomarkers. Diagnostic models distinguishing versus non-CKD early-stage advanced-stage constructed using SVM algorithm, achieving an overall accuracy 0.93 0.94, area under curve (AUC) values 0.97 0.99 all subjects in receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, respectively. processes monitored real-time, response exhibiting ideal exponential decay over time. showed strong positive correlation serum creatinine levels (r = 0.85) moderate blood urea nitrogen 0.62), both which are clinical diagnostic indicators CKD. These good results, as 54% samples patients. results suggest that could serve alternative traditional tests renal function evaluation diagnosis. Overall, this demonstrates great potential practice CKD, monitoring daily health status patients, optimizing schedule, process real-time.
