Abstract Sustainable development and competitive advantage are impacted by strategic choices that maximize resource value reduce waste. Numerous instances of thriving OEM remanufacturing can be observed, predominantly in the business‐to‐business domain. The significance Closed‐Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) generating managing recovery process is widely acknowledged within supply chain industry. Manufacturing companies now have to come up with green design strategies response recent changes environmental regulations. This study designates specific features circular closed‐loop supply‐chain considering end‐of‐life products. Modern societies are currently transitioning towards more circular economic models to reduce environmental impacts and leverage opportunities. Managing the emerging supply chains, complex uncertain, poses a considerable challenge for many organisations. This work examines dynamic behaviour of these closed-loop systems under different replenishment policies varying levels product returns lead times. We model generalised multi-level, chain production system with material reuse, drawing inspiration from real-world operations cider makers in Spain. investigate its ability effectively efficiently satisfy consumer through four performance metrics: fill rate, bullwhip ratio, inventory cover, reuse demand share. Through experimentation techniques, we observe that highest is generally obtained when retailer applies pure pull policy while manufacturer adopts level scheduling policy. strategy, built on lean principles, can achieve much lower operational costs providing similar, or even better, service compared popular alternatives. Based our findings, provide set actionable managerial implications would help professionals successfully implement manage chains.

Wind energy is key to supply renewable energy. However, the increasing number of end-of-life wind turbines still predominantly landfilled, while regulatory aspects such as waste shipment and landfilling rules hinder development scalable implementation reverse networks. This work aims understand how EU directives impact structure viability circularity-enabling networks by investigating optimal network design for turbine blades under different policy scenarios. Three scenarios were explored through a Mixed-Integer-Linear-Programming model: (i) 'as-is'; (ii) 'EU Proposal 2021/0367', removing transboundary restrictions on shipments; (iii) 'Landfilling Ban' enforcing an EU-wide ban composites. The practical role of digital platforms in fostering a circular economy (CE) among businesses remains unresolved. Unlike previous research on and firm performance, this study analyzes the bridging function value creation system from perspective. It identifies resources (business model innovation) relationships with other creators (closed-loop supply chains) as key elements for achieving CE. Using survey data 243 firms, validates significant roles business innovation closed-loop chains mediating relationship to achieve This narrows theoretical gap expands creation-based CE research.
