Numerical analysis of the sediment erosion balance valve in a buoyancy regulation system was performed. A numerical model for two-phase flow inside constructed based on discrete phase model. The rate discussed, and effects five parameters were considered. concentration opening found to be significant, while pressure difference, density, size moderate. rate, according results, increased linearly with concentration, so long-term operation high-concentration areas should avoided. highest when 46.3%, half-open operating conditions are not recommended. proportional square root difference. However, adjusting difference may an effective method regulating total erosion. superposition secondary main stream caused particles spiral along fluid, resulting asymmetric at working edge. edge decreased increase size. Conversely, ball surface sixth power Considering that large more likely cause blockage, it is recommended install seawater pretreatment device inlet prevent sediments from entering improve life system.

The use of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) composites in fluid transport systems can effectively reduce corrosion damage caused by corrosive media. However, collisions between solid particles and the surfaces ball valve flow passages cause erosion lead to safety issues. two-phase characteristics valves manufactured from resin-based composite materials were studied under different openings particle sizes using CFD-DPM method. results indicate that both smaller larger relative are prone at thin edges ball. As opening increases, average amount passage first increases then decreases. maximum is 0.0051 kg/m2·s when Cv = 40. At 40, channel mainly occurs bottom inlet seat position. With increasing size, amounts increase. Larger significantly raise rate nearby, while other locations, increase same area. During GFRP valves, it important avoid introducing large-sized into medium. Keeping valve’s greater than 40 more erosion-resistant for extend its service life.
