The increased attention in agri-food quality and safety has led to the progress of DNA-based tools aimed fight adulteration issues. Among various molecular approaches, those ones based on markers DNA barcoding have been adequately validated, whereas new such as droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), isothermal amplification clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR associated (Cas) (CRISPR/Cas) system are starting overtake performances former be applied sector. Herein, an overview recent advances exploitations techniques for authenticity traceability fresh processed plant-derived food, feed medicinal products is provided, including research about monitoring contaminant allergen presence. Moreover, potentials flaws these also discussed. Key finding conclusions: technologies represent valuable preventing frauds several vegetable present market spices, extra virgin olive oil, wine, cocoa, plants. application methods can contribute protection consumers all stakeholders involved production distribution.

In recent years, herbal plants have been widely used in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Centella asiatica (l.) urb is a significant medicinal plant renowned for its diverse ethnomedicinal applications. The present study evaluated biological activities neuroprotective effect C. asiatica. summary, was identified using DNA barcoding such as matK and rbcL genes. sequences obtained were then compared through similarity search NCBI GenBank database. Notably, extracts exhibited high acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity. Furthermore, butanol extract demonstrated most neurotrophic effects preliminary cell-based screenings, particularly promoting neurite outgrowth C6 cells. These findings suggest that holds considerable promise potential candidate development pharmacological treatments
