This article presents a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in natural product extraction, focusing on the evolution from deep eutectic solvents (DESs) to systems (DESys) for extraction. DESs, known their environmentally friendly properties, have become crucial extracting various products plants, including micromolecules, lignin, and polysaccharides. Research into extraction mechanism reveals that target compounds typically form hydrogen bonds with effectively becoming part solvent system. insight has led development DESys method, where bond acceptors (HBAs) donors (HBDs) are directly mixed sample system containing compounds. The shift DES-based DESys-based introduces innovative approaches integral system, allowing one-step dissolution methodology eliminates need pre-prepared simplifying processes enhancing efficiency. Additionally, strategies DESs recycling reuse contribute sustainability efforts, offering cost-effective solutions. expanding applications cosmetics, food, industry, environmental fields highlight promising potential. By delineating transition products, this review offers valuable insights advancing practice green chemical engineering.
