Abstract Alkali metal compounds have vital influence on biomass pyrolysis conversion. In this study, cellulose, and bamboo catalytic with different alkali salts catalysts (KCl, K 2 SO 4 , CO 3 NaCl, Na ) were investigated in the fixed-bed reaction system. The effects of cations (K + anions (Cl - 2− 2- evolution properties biochar, bio-oil, gas products explored under both in-situ ex-situ pyrolysis. Results showed that facilitated yields biochar gases at expense bio-oil. chloride sulfate a weaker effect, while carbonate greatly promoted generation increased condensation degree biochar. With addition cyclopentanones content was over 50% from cellulose pyrolysis, phenols (mainly alkylphenols) reached 80% Moreover, solid-solid reactions had an important role strikingly promoting conversion products, gas-solid stronger than those catalysts. Furthermore, possible mechanism proposed, which is to high-value utilization biomass.
