Building information modeling (BIM) has been widely applied throughout the entire lifecycle of projects in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The errors BIM models can lead to significant losses engineering projects, thus leading BIM-based model checking (BMC) technology garnering an increasing amount attention. Despite numerous documents detailing BMC process, there is a lack systematic analysis visualization existing research. This study employs combined approach scientometric critical review survey articles on published from 2008 2024 Web Science (WOS) Scopus databases. scientific objectively presents status evolution this research field through quantitative data, including publications, authors, references. Furthermore, employed analyze content articles, summarizing topics challenges current Finally, potential promising directions for future development are proposed.
