Single crystals of Cu2ZnGeSe4 and Cu2ZnGeS4 solid solutions were developed successfully obtained using the chemical vapor transfer method, with iodine acting as a transporter. The structure, compositional dependences lattice parameters, pycnometric X-ray densities microhardness determined. composition determined by microanalysis satisfactorily corresponds to nominal one tolerance ±5 %. XRD analysis showed that all compounds their have unit cell described tetragonal symmetry. attice parameters found be а = 5.342 ± 0.005 Å, с 10.51 0.01 Å for Сu2ZnGeS4 compound 5.607 11.04 Cu2ZnGeSe4, respectively. Structural studies confirmed validity Vegard's law in relation samples. ∼4.28 g/cm3 ∼5.46 slightly less than ∼4.32 ∼5.52 g/cm3, maximum ∼398 kg/mm2 these x 0.60. melt point increases from ∼1180 °C Сu2ZnGeSe4 up ∼1400 Сu2ZnGeS4. Based on fluorescence DTA data, phase diagram Cu2ZnGeSe4-Cu2ZnGeS4 system was constructed. Analysis indicates its first type according Rozbom's classification.
