Objectives: Cannabis is used by one-third of people living with chronic pain to alleviate their symptoms despite warnings from several organizations regarding its efficacy and safety. We currently know little about self-medication practices (use cannabis for therapeutic purposes without guidance), mainly since the legalization recreational in countries such as Canada has expanded scope this phenomenon. This study aimed describe legal relief explore perceptions effectiveness safety cannabis. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive was performed among 73 individuals using (Quebec, Canada). Data collection telephone interviews occurred early 2023. Results: Results indicated that 61.6% participants reported guidance a health care professional (self-medication). Surprisingly, those, 40.0% held medical authorization. Overall, 20.6% were both nonmedical Different pathways revealed. Proportion women versus men self-medicating 58.2% 70.6% ( P =0.284). In terms perceptions, 90.4% sample perceived be effective management; 72.6% estimated it posed no or minimal risk. Discussion: research often organized around but real-world, those 2 vessels are connected. Interested parties, including researchers, professionals, funding agencies, need consider this. Patients feel confident cannabis, many them self-medicate, which calls action.

Abstract Background Depression and anxiety are two of the most prevalent disabling mental disorders worldwide, both in general population outpatient clinical settings. Objective This study aimed to analyze psychometric properties Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) based on network analysis metrics. Methods A total 911 Paraguayans (23.71% women 76.29% men; mean age 31.25 years, SD = 10.63), selected by non-probabilistic convenience sampling, participated study. Network was used evaluate internal structure, reliability, measurement invariance between men women. Results The results revealed that PHQ-4 is a unidimensional measure through Exploratory Graph Analysis (EGA). Reliability, structural consistency, identified 100% time, only single dimension obtained, all items remained stable, as they were always replicated within empirical dimension. structure has shown evidence configural invariance; therefore, functioned equally among different sex groups. Conclusion presented optimal preliminary validity its sexes. Therefore, it may be useful an accurate brief depressive symptoms Paraguayan context.

Abstract Background: Anxiety and depression are psychiatric disorders that often coexist share some features. Developing a simple cost-effective tool to assess anxiety in the Arabic-speaking population, predominantly residing low- middle-income nations where research can be arduous, would immensely beneficial. The study aimed translate four-item composite Patient Health Questionnaire – 4 (PHQ-4) into Arabic evaluate its psychometric properties, including internal reliability, sex invariance, correlation with measures of psychological distress. Methods: 587 adults were recruited between February March 2023. An anonymous self-administered Google Forms link was distributed via social media networks. We utilized FACTOR software explore factor structure PHQ-4. Results: Confirmatory analysis (CFA) indicated fit two-factor model PHQ-4 scores modest ( χ 2 / df = .13/1 .13, RMSEA .001, SRMR .002, CFI 1.005, TLI 1.000). Internal reliability excellent (McDonald’s omega .86; Cronbach’s alpha .86). Indices suggested configural, metric, scalar invariance supported across sex. No significant difference found males females terms total scores, scores. score significantly moderately-to-strongly associated lower wellbeing higher Depression Stress Scale (DASS) subscales Conclusion: proves reliable, valid, for assessing symptoms related anxiety. To practical effectiveness further enhance data on construct validity, future studies should measure diverse contexts among specific populations.
