Abstract Background This study is based on the biosocial model of nonsuicidal self‐injury (NSSI), to explore effects cumulative ecological risk adolescents' NSSI, mediating effect depression between and moderating role impulsiveness in this pathway. Methods A total 16 508 adolescents, with 7903 males (47.9%), participated completed Cumulative Ecological Risk Questionnaire, Short Form Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, Impulsiveness assessment, Nonsuicidal Self‐Injury Scale. Results (1) There was a significant positive correlation risk, depression, impulsiveness, NSSI; (2) significantly predicted (3) had (4) moderated both NSSI adolescents.
