Today, population aging is the main trend of development. Home-based care mainly adopted in Chinese society, and scholars have paid ample attention to effect intergenerational support on mental health older people. However, research conclusions differ. This study uses data from 2018 China Health Pension Tracking Survey (CHARLS), which we analyzed with STATA software construct least squares regression two-stage models. The model included 6,647 respondents investigate status people based depression status. Intergenerational was defined as economic support, emotional daily provided by children We studied impact three aspects elderly. performed a robustness test using variable replacement propensity score matching methods, age, gender, urban-rural heterogeneity. results showed that had no significant people, while positive effect. heterogeneity indicated relationship between differed significantly urban rural areas. Abstract Background Policy effect might be multidimensional and spill over to non-recipients. It is unclear how the implementation of Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) policy affects depression in non-disabled people this differs different groups. Methods Using time-varying differences-in-differences method nationally representative health survey data wave 2011, 2013, 2015 2018 from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study, we assessed LTCI on aged 45 years older, discussed heterogeneity across population characteristics: retirement, financial support social participation status. Results We found statistically significant reduced by 0.76 units compared non-pilot cities. Depression who unretired, with without was 0.8267, 0.7079 1.2161 units, respectively. Conclusions because China, benefited more policy. Our findings highlight depression-reducing non-recipients suggest that should concerned during progress.
