Suicide is a significant leading cause of death among young people, particularly those struggling with mental disorders. Abstract Objectives: There is evidence of increasing rates hospital presentations for suicidal crisis, and emergency departments (EDs) are described as an intervention point suicide prevention. Abstract Background Suicide among male construction workers are reported to be disproportionally high compared the working age population. However, there is minimal understanding of prevalence and associated factors for suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, suicide attempt this occupational group globally. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on a large sample in Ireland ( n = 1,585). We investigated self-injury attempts sociodemographic, occupational, mental health with these three outcomes.
