Background Hypertension is a prevalent cardiovascular risk factor that significantly contributes to morbidity and mortality worldwide. Previous studies have highlighted the role of inadequate sleep during weekdays in development hypertension. However, potential mitigative effects weekend catch-up (WCS) on hypertension been less explored. Methods This cross-sectional study analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017–2020, focusing American adults. We assessed association between WCS (defined as difference duration weekday) presence Participants were classified into two groups based their duration: none (below 1 hours), yes (over hours). Multivariable logistic regression models adjusted for confounders such age, gender, Body mass index (BMI), lifestyle factors utilized explore this association. A Generalized Additive Model (GAM) was employed generate smooth curves nuanced analysis nonlinear relationship. Results The findings indicated moderate (less than 4 hours) associated with reduced hypertension, while excessive (greater showed no significant protective benefits. Conclusion Moderate could serve an effective intervention mitigate risk, especially populations restricted weekday sleep. These results suggest integrating management strategies public health recommendations address Future longitudinal are needed confirm these clarify mechanisms underlying relationship risk.

With suicide ranking as a leading cause of death globally, identifying modifiable risk factors is crucial. Suicidal ideation (SI) significant precursor to suicide, and there growing interest in the role cardiometabolic factors, particularly index (CMI), multiplying triglyceride-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio by waist-to-height ratio, mental health outcomes. Previous studies have shown notable relationship among lipid abnormalities, elevated triglyceride levels, depressive symptom severity, including SI. This research investigated correlation between CMI levels adult Americans SI, utilizing data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) ranging years 2005 2018. After collecting on demographics, physical examinations, laboratory testing, multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted assess SI while adjusting for relevant factors. The study, which enrolled 15,849 individuals exhibiting symptoms constituting 3.47% total, revealed association A positive found (adjusted OR = 1.07, 95% CI: 1.02-1.13, P .0029). Moreover, nonlinear identified characterized an atypical inverted U-shaped curve with breakpoint at approximately 2.08. Subgroup consistent findings across various demographic clinical subpopulations. this study demonstrate substantial increased incidence within US population. Early interventions targeted such psychological support or lifestyle adjustments, may mitigate

Background: Managing acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is complex, particularly when combined with comorbidities like sleep apnea. Effective treatment requires personalized approaches, focusing on quality of life (QoL) and mental health outcomes. Purpose: This study explored the prevalence characteristics apnea in patients obesity AHF exacerbations. It assessed how different phenotypes impact QoL health, applying medicine strategies. Methods: A prospective cohort was conducted 150 admitted for exacerbation. Inclusion criteria included an Apnea–Hypopnea Index (AHI) > 5, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) 8, NT-proBNP 900 pg/mL informed consent obtained prior to participation. Optimized medical provided. were evaluated using Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ) Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Results: Among 81 apnea, 73% (n = 59) had obstructive (OSA) 27% 19) central (CSA). OSA reported a higher (61.12 ± 17.88) compared CSA (37.18 19.98, p < 0.001). exhibited more severe depression (BDI: 26.18 5.5 vs. 16.64 4.1, Significant correlations noted between KCCQ BDI scores (r −0.849, 0.001) events −0.485, Conclusions: Sleep common ADHF patients, being linked poorer greater depression. To investigate whether self-reported symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), including snoring, snorting/stopping breathing, and sleepiness, are associated with increased risk kidney stones. This cross-sectional study was conducted based on the 2015-2020 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Self-reported OSA history stones were diagnosed via questionnaires. Multivariable logistic regression used to determine associations between Subgroup analyses interaction tests performed address this issue further. A total 9,973 participants enrolled, prevalence 10.76%. Although no significant association observed frequent snoring after covariate adjustments (OR 1.033, 95% CI 0.726, 1.469 p = 0.850), breathing a greater 1.655, 1.262, 2.172, 0.002). Participants who often or almost always felt sleepy also had adjustment 1.651, 1.222, 2.229; 0.004). The suggested that marital status (p 0.015) smoking < 0.001) significantly interacted sleepiness may be these findings emphasize prevention in people, further research still needed verify our results.
