Abstract Mental health problem is a growing in mainland China and the situation has worsened under COVID-19 pandemic. Besides focusing on tertiary secondary prevention strategies, there an urgent need to enhance well-being of adolescents through primary programs. During pandemic, positive youth development program entitled “Tin Ka Ping P.A.T.H.S. Program” was implemented schools China. In 2022/23 academic year, students were invited write weekly diary their experience about after completion (N = 2,337). Qualitative evaluation showed that 98.2% perceived beneficial different domains. Specifically, enhanced sense community, school adjustment, interpersonal relations (family peer relations), intrapersonal competence (including optimism, resilience, coping with stress, spirituality, life meaning cherishing one’s life). conjunction other quantitative qualitative findings, triangulated findings strongly suggest Tin Program promising enhances psychosocial quality adolescents.

Introduction There is a notable scarcity of research examining the developmental trajectories positive youth development (PYD) attributes among Chinese preadolescents and adolescents predictive effect family functioning on these over time. Methods Using four waves data, this longitudinal study investigated in China January 2020 (T1), June (T2), 2021 (T3), 2022 (T4). The utilized 90-item “Chinese Positive Youth Development Scale” 33-item Family Assessment Instrument” to assess PYD functioning, respectively. final matched sample comprised 2,652 students from grades 4 8, with an average age 10.9 years (SD = 1.32; range 9–15) at first wave survey, 51.1% male ( n 1,354). Results Latent Growth Curve Modeling (LGCM) revealed that followed quadratic U-shaped curve, characterized by initial decline T1 T3, rebound T3 T4. Although time-invariant covariate LGCM indicated no significant gender difference level PYD, girls exhibited slower rate faster growth time than did boys. parallel demonstrated levels significantly positively predicted both change Discussion This highlights critical importance considering direct sustained impact within contexts outcomes adolescents. also suggests when designing formulating specific programs or interventions, it essential consider differences competencies ensure optimal young individuals different genders.
